New Play Exchange is a large subscription platform serving playwrights, producers, and theater professionals worldwide. I led the redevelopment effort from Drupal 7 to Drupal 9, architecting the migration strategy and rebuilding key systems to support a more modern, scalable platform. This included extensive site-building, configuration, and custom migration pipelines to ensure data integrity across user accounts, subscriptions, and demographic information.
I developed complex custom modules to power the platform’s subscription-based services, including role automation, access control, and custom workflows tied to user membership levels. I also implemented Stripe payment integration, creating a seamless checkout and subscription renewal experience that improved reliability and reduced customer support friction.
Beyond backend and architectural work, I coordinated development efforts across the team and consulted directly with the client on planning, workflow improvements, and UX refinements. I redesigned parts of the demographic data architecture to make user reporting more accurate and useful for the organization’s long-term strategic needs.
